There are normally three categories you will be dealing with when making a racquet selection:
1.
Player:
generally
heavier, head light, and *flexible. This category is suited to fast
swing speeds and those seeking control and who can generate their own
racquet speed (power).
2. Tweener:
generally slightly lighter, evenly balanced, and a little stiffer. This
category is suited to a moderate swing speed and those seeking a little
more power from the larger head size and stiffness.
3. Game Improvement:
generally much lighter, head heavy, and stiff. This category is suited
to a very slow or short swing and those seeking maximum power from the
larger
head size and stiffness.
A
note: larger racquet heads have longer strings, and longer strings will
produce a softer string bed and a softer string bed will generate a
little more power.
* Some "player" racquets are stiff but have incorporated other features that contribute to "flexibility".
